Zacharie Cloutier can be rightly regarded as the ancestor of all francophonesd'Amérique.

He was born in 1590 in Mortagne, in Perche, in France.

He married Xaintes Dupont and they emigrated to New France in 1634 with their five children.

Upon his arrival, Zechariah was forty-four. He settled with his family in the lordship of Robert Giffard, Beauport.

He takes possession of land May 29, 1644.


Shortly after, he moved to Château-Richer, where he lived the rest of his days.

Occasionally, Zacharie Cloutier will lend a hand to perform masonry work and carpentry in large structures.

In the census of 1667, he has 77 years Xaintes has 71 and they have two animals.

He died in the autumn of 1677. He was 87 years. His son Zachary will continue the culture of the earth father.
