     Katherine Louise Boerner was born on 6 February 1814 at Kirchhatten, Oldenburg, Germany.¹ As of 11 August 1837,her married name was Hilgen.¹ She married Johann Friedrich Hilgen, son of Christian Carl Ludwig Hilling and Anna Sophia Schroeder, on 11 August 1837 at Kitchhatten, Oldenburg, Germany.¹ Katherine Louise Boerner died on 4 June 1885 at Zur Ruhe, Cedarburg, Wisconsin, at age 71.¹ She Grand daughter Mrs. Carl Bauer remembers Louise as being small and liked to dress elegantly and wear beautiful jewelry with black lace. Fond of going to balls and theatre. Had two parlors the upstairs one reserved for her ladies club and weddings. on 1 July 1941.²
