     Gottfried Burow was born on 12 December 1801 at Pommern, Prussia.^2,3,4 He probably came from Cammin however Berneva Hebb states Jagow, Brandenburg in 1837.^5,6 He immigrated in June 1837; Entered via NYC.³ He married Wilhelmenia (?) Dumstrey, daughter of Joachim Friedrich Dumstrey and Engel Bohlmann, in 1840.^1,7 Gottfried Burow was naturalized from 2 December 1840 to 3 July 1844 at Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.⁸ He lived from October 1850 to June 1870 at Mequon, Ozaukee, Wisconsin; owned 60 acres in sections 35 and 36 of Mequon in 1873 map. 1860 agric census has him owning 40 improved and 60 unimproved acres. worth $3500 also 2 horses 5 milch cows 2 oxen 6 other cattle 8 sheep 6 pigs. produced 80 wheat 150 rye 10 corn 200 oats bushels.^2,9,10 He sold right of way to Milwaukee Northern RR for $46.66 right of way thru sec 35. on 1 April 1871 at Mequon, Ozaukee, Wisconsin.¹¹ He left a will on 23 March 1874.⁶ He sold whole farm to sons Albert and Henry Burow for "parental love and affection" and $1. on 15 April 1875 at Mequon, Ozaukee, Wisconsin.¹¹ He died on 23 March 1877 at Cedarburg, Ozaukee, Wisconsin, at age 75.⁴ His estate was probated on 23 March 1877 at Mequon, Ozaukee, Wisconsin; Freidrich given $2200 as his part of farm. No headstone. I located grave site by looking at adjoining graves and there are many unmarked graves in area. Probably near Bogislaff Hackbarth marker.^4,13 He no obit in Milwaukee German language papers in 2008.¹⁴
